Economic Outlook 2025

For the 15th time, the Chamber has organized our traditional Economic Outlook events in partnership with BNP Paribas and Benelux Business Club. This year marked the 9th time we have welcomed William De Vijlder, Chief Economist at BNP Paribas from 2014 to 2024 and current Economic Adviser to the general management of BNP Paribas.

This time was very special for us as it was the last one, indeed, William will be retiring in the coming months. 

Thursday the 30th of January evening, William met the French Ambassador and some of our main partners during a dinner organized at Letz Shop where the guests enjoyed a delicious French meal. Between the starter and the main course, William introduced his main economic outlook for this new year. The next day, Friday morning, 80 members were present at Grant Thornton in their new office at Nordhavn. After a welcome speech by Michael Beuchert, partner at Grant Thornton, Peter Rosendahl from Grant Thornton made a short presentation on "AI is here to stay”. These introductions were followed by William's Economic Outlook presentation where he introduced the main figures and outlooks for the next months. 

We would like to thank William for these 2 presentations but also for his presence over the last 9 years. The Chamber and our members are very grateful to William for this great tradition and we wish William all the best for the future. 

We would like to also thank Grant Thornton for welcoming us in their fatanstic new office with a wonderful view of the harbour, thanks also for offering the breakfast.

We will definitely continue this fine tradition next year.
