Gala dinner 2017
On the 14th of June, the Chamber's gala dinner took place. Eight years had passed since the Chamber of Commerce organized its last gala, and to revive this tradition the Chamber had decided to organize something extraordinary this year. In effect, In the presence of HRH Prince Joachim and HRH Princess Marie Princess Marie honoured this dinner with their presence.
Close to 170 guests participated in this exceptional evening. After an indulgence in the Danish sun with Crément offered by Les Grands Chais de France along with a aperitif consisting of baguettes by Bridorand foie gras offered by Letz Shop, all of the guests had the opportunity to attend a private race with 5 horses respectively sponsored by Air France, Legrand, Renault, Simone Pérèle and Thales. Thanks to a lightning sprint, Thales won this race brilliantly which made Katja Bech the big winner of the Danish French Grand Prix 2017 of horse racing.
Following this race, the guests enjoyed the dinner in the hall facing the racecourse. Les Grands Chais de France provided the guests with different wines during the evening (Domaine de la Baume Red and White as well as Calvet Sauterne). We extend a big thank you to our wine sponsor of the evening.
Several strong features marked the evening with in particular the award ceremony of the Export Prize 2017. This year it was the two extraordinary export performances of Logstor and Pierre Fabre Laboratories that were awarded with the two export prizes of the Danish-French Chamber of Commerce.
For Logstor, who produces insulated pipes for cooling systems of district heating for the oil and gas sector and for the food industry as well as the chemical industry, this performance has meant an increase of the export to the French market of 40 % within a period of 4 years, amounting to a turnover of around 72 million DKK in a strongly competitive marked with one national manufacturer and four other rival companies. ”The reason why we have nonetheless succeeded is partly due to the fact that Logstor has made investments in research and development which have enabled us to compete on quality and energy reductions and partly due to the fact that our sales team has succeeded in explaining the costumers about the advantages of the technically advanced piping systems as opposed to the discount systems,” says Alain Lintz, the country manager in France, whose statement yet again emphasizes the importance of the technical lead in the sector of energy reduction of Denmark.
Pierre Fabre is the second largest privately owned pharmaceutical enterprise in France as well as the second largest dermocosmetic laboratory in the world. After a little more than 15 years in the Danish pharmaceutical market, Pierre Fabre has now become the second largest supplier of well-known and well-established dermocosmetic brand such as Eau Thermale Avène, A-Derma and Ducray. Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmétique Nordic was established as a subsidiary in January 2016 and is 100% owned by the Pierre Fabre Laboratories. ”Our brands were already known in Denmark at the pharmacies, at which we are the second largest supplier with mainly Avène and A-Derma. We started out with 16 employees last year and with the establishment of our company in Norway this year we count at present time 42 employees”, says Elisabeth Halvorsen, the CEO of Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmétique Nordic in Denmark. ”Our first year has been brilliant with a turnover of almost 75 million DKK and a growth of more than 17%. It makes for an exciting adventure”
The prizes were awarded by respectively His Royal Highness Prince Joachim for the Pierre Fabre Laboratories and by Her Royal Highness Princess Marie for Logstor.
A competition of the most original hat was carried out and Parfums Christian Dior and its Nordic managing director Sylvain Foucault rewarded Ida Løfberg for her exquisite headgear with a Christian Dior gift box. You can see the photos of the winner and her hat below.
A lottery made it possible to offer our guests a range of presents and for that we owe a big thank you to the gift sponsors of the evening:
- Pernod Ricard who offered two bottles: a magnum Mumm Champagne and Jeroboam Mumm Champagne.
- Letz Shop who offered two gift boxes
- A gift box of wines offered by Les Grands Chais de France.
- Three sets of lingerie offered by Simone Pérèle.
- A dinner for two persons at l’Education Nationale offered by the Chamber and the restaurant in conjunction
- Two return tickets to France offered by Air France.
The evening was completed with dancing supported by the orchestra Den Franske Kvartet, representing a French variété including famous songs from Piaf to Brel arranged as an acoustic gypsy jazz mixed with bossanova, tango and Danish song tradition.
Due to the current feedback from our guests, we are already considering the organisation of a gala dinner in 2018.

- Air France
- Legrand
- Renault
