Gala dinner 2024 Olympic theme

In the summer of 2024, the legendary Olympic Games were to be held in Paris with several large French companies as main partners and sponsors. On this occasion, the Danish-French Chamber of Commerce held our annual gala on June 6 with the Olympic Games as our theme and invited a list of former Danish Olympic athletes to join the festivities. We co-hosted the event with Victorious, an executive business network owned and led by former Olympic gold winner Victor Feddersen (to learn more about Victories, click here). 160 participants from our network joined this special evening at Brøndby stadium.

The guests arrived at 18:00 and had the opportunity to explore two versions of the new Renault SCENIC Electric, to be launched after summer. While the guests enjoyed the welcome champagne, Moët Imperial, offered by Moët Hennessy, the CEO of Brøndby stadion, Ole Palmå, and the president of the Chamber, Anders Torbøl, introduced the evening.

At 19:00, everyone was invited to enter the Michael Laudrup lounge where we enjoyed a delicious 4-meal course with cheeses offered by Savencia Nordics and wines provided by Les Grands Chais de France:
- The starter was served with Chablis 2023 – Maison Moillard: This wine offers a complexity of fresh white fruits and minerality, well-balanced by the typical lemon and incisive finish.
- The main course was served with Pinot Noir 2022 - Les Rafelières : an elegant and complex wine, offering notes of small red fruits, spices, and vanilla
.
- The dessert was served with Riesling Grand Cru Altenberg de Wolxheim, 2021 : This wine has a mineral profile with citrus, fresh grapes, and liquorice notes, well balanced with the intensity and ampleness given by its aging on lees.

The dinner was launched with an introduction by the hostess of the evening, Anita Wagner Feddersen, and by Victor Feddersen, who asked each athlete about their best athletic memory. Camilla Andersen talked about her meeting with Muhammed Ali while Kim Vilfort recalled his very first football victory around age 10.

During the dinner, we also had several Olympic sports presentations with a football freestyler, a group of break-dancers, and a fencing duel. The fencing duel fought a brave battle and surprised everyone when they removed the masks: Ambassador Christophe Parisot and Chamber Board Member Nicolas Guilbert in their finest fencing clothes.

Just before the fencing duel, we had another surprise of the evening: The fire alarm went off and sent everyone out for fresh air. Although most guests thought it was a part of the programme, the organisers were just as surprised as the rest of us when we saw the firefighters enter the stadium. Luckily, it turned out to simply be a bit of steam in the kitchen, and we could all go back inside to enjoy the dessert.

During the evening, we also had our traditional Export Prize Ceremony where the Ambassador handed over the statue to Mads Storgaard from Dassault Systèmes for the company’s impressive development on the Danish market as well as their contribution to their clients’ sustainability measures.

As a final little ceremony of the evening before the dance floor opened, the General Director of the Chamber, Samuel Vaillant-Jørgensen and his wife, Johanna, were invited to the stage where our chairman Anders Torbøl thanked Samuel for his many efforts for the Chamber over the past 10 years.
